"Added Thoughts About Michelle"

First let me say that I totally agree with Kathy's post in defense of Michelle ... And that is a credit to Joie Lenz. She has portrayed Michelle's inner turmoil and confusion perfectly and the pace of the realization of her feelings is appropriate. Paul Anthony Stewart and Lenz's acting has been superb! Lovin' every minute of it!

Now, I believe that Michelle is ready to admit her feelings for Danny, but she is waiting for a cue from Danny to do this. It seems to me that she is looking for some kind of assurance from him and about him. Unfortunately for Michelle, Danny won't, not now. He is in self-preservation mode and understandably so. He is not going to stick his neck out again. That 'ol "star-crossed" thing again. I say this because ... deep down Michelle knows Danny loves her, yet she continually seeks proof at this point. To illustrate:

  • She knows Danny saved her life from the get-go by marrying her. Even TWV pointed out what a
big deal that was just recently.
  • She has even remarked to herself how wonderful he has been to her. His actions speak volumes.
  • The wedding; his vows. All true he said.
  • She overheard him tell his Grandma that he loves her.
  • Drew has pointed out several times that Danny has feelings for her.
  • He granted her wish for freedom. The annullment.
  • She just found out that Danny threatened his own mother and put his own life in jeapordy for her again.

But, now that she realizes her feelings for Danny are something real she keeps saying and doing things like:

  • "Tell me, Ray. I need to know. This is very important."
  • "Danny is being so cold to me. Why is he acting like this marriage meant nothing?" (to Ray)
  • When Drew mentioned Danny could not stop talking about her she said, "really, what did he say about
    me?"
  • At Millenium, "Danny, don't you remember? I heard you tell your grandmother you loved me. Wasn't
that true? Are you saying you didn't mean it? That you lied to your grandmother."
  • To Danny before she left Towers with TWV. "So that's it then? It's over?"
  • Re: the annullment. "Why are you doing this Danny?" When he said "nothing ever happened between
us," she replied, "you know that's not true." And then he said, "our marriage was never real." She
adamantly replied, "yes, it was!," but still no dice from him.

I think if Danny was open to her comments yesterday they might have made some headway. However, I do think that Danny will give some thought to her words after he has cooled down. That is why I think he uses Pilar to make her jealous. Her stalling the annullment, her belief that the marriage was real, her concern over him being at risk with Carmen, and her tears when she said she would sign the papers, are all the clues he needed. He is a smart man. I also think the arrival of TWV at Towers interrupted a lot. Danny looked as though he was ready to really hear what she was saying.

I just thought I'd point out that Michelle is reaching out. She wants to be so sure of Danny before she fully commits herself. I for one can't blame her.
