That said, I do think Dietz will be the fly in the ointment. We've already seen him over-eager to please the boss, and I think he is going to take into his own hands to "take care of" Michelle and remove her from Carmen's radar. He'll feel he is doing her a favor. Here is where the danger for our dear Manny will come in.
And, to reiterate everyone else -- yesterday's show, although bittersweet - was the best beginning to a new understanding between Michelle and Danny. She needs to deal with Jesse and the fear she has of Danny.
But, Danny really needs this time more than Michelle. Jesse is such a minor roadblock. But, Danny is looking at casting off his entire life if he wants to be with Michelle (Meta was so right when she talked about how he was raised to be his mother's son). He must give up everything - his connection with family, his life's work, the concept of who he is. We all seem to focus on Michelle, but all she needs to do is admit she loves him, but Danny must admit that the person he is, isn't the person who can love and live with Michelle -- as he said, "it would never work between us."
This time is going to be important for Danny. Where Michelle will become disenchanted with Jesse, Danny is going to have to realize he can't have Michelle unless he "let's his world spin out of control" and he breaks ties with past.
