Essay #35
"Why I'm Thrilled ... Happy"
(Written After the March 23rd episode")

1. Yesterday, when Michelle opened the door to Danny, there was fear in her eyes. Real fear ... and then she pulled the knife on him and showed to Danny and herself that she was drawn to him but she still knew what he was capable of. But, after she put the knife down ... I saw her come to the conclusion that she knew Danny would never really hurt her. And I think she came to the realization that in moments of weakness, she wasn't sure what she was capable of. This will make her understand Danny even more ... it will make her see that she and Danny are not so different.

2. Danny promised to always keep Michelle safe. Always ... no matter what. He will keep his promise. Not only because he is a man of his word, but because he loves Michelle.

3. Danny was truly sorry about what he did with Drew. Yes, some of us were upset that he didn't show guilt right away ... right after the deed. But, yesterday he made it clear that he was driven to do something that he didn't want to do. Something that he regretted. He doesn't like what he did. He feels bad that he lost control and he wants that control back. I was satisfied with this admission of guilt. I saw it in his eyes ... and if he thought Michelle loved him ... he would think that he betrayed her.

4. In the next few days, we are going to see some of the best Paul Anthony Stewart and Joie Lenz scenes we could possible imagine. How do I know this? Well, because I was dreading yesterday ... I knew what was going to happen ... but I was not prepared to be so moved. I think that this was probably the best episode we have seen between Stewart and Lenz. We saw hurt ... a lot of us cried ... but most of all we saw two lost souls reaching for each other in need but coming up short because of misunderstandings.

5. Yes, there will be a Michelle/Jesse reunion ... we all knew this would happen. Last night ... I didn't want this. But, now, like Kristi, I too am looking forward to this. Not because I like Michelle and Jesse ... BLECH! but because, finally there will be closure. Michelle will realize all by herself that she wants Danny and only him. She will be free ... free of Danny, free of Carmen, free of Dietz ... and that's how I want her to be ... free to make her decision based on want and need and above all, love! Michelle will know that Jesse is in the past. They will part friends, but I don't think Jesse will be too hurt ... he is having feelings for Drew. This reunion will shed light on their hearts and even though they will still care for one another ... Michelle and Jesse will be over. Yippee!

6. Michelle will pine for Danny. Stare lovingly at his ring. Gaze longingly at him from across a room. Think about him constantly. Have dreams about him. Miss him. This is what I have been waiting for. I want her to want him. I want her to go after him. I want Danny to finally realize that he is loved ... and I think that he will when he sees just how miserable Michelle is without him.

7. Michelle was coming up with all kinds of excuses yesterday to make Danny not want to end the marriage. She was trying to think up reasons to make him stay. " I won't make any more trouble, I am ready to be your wife, you are signing my death certificate, we had a deal, I will make you happy!" She tried everything but the truth ... that she loves him ... But when she finally tells him the truth ... think how happy we will be ... It's coming and soon.

8. The ring ... well, he took it off. Again, very emotional for me ... I cried even more. But, she will put that ring back on his finger. Her own private vows will be spoken ... true, heart driven vows that she will mean. Forget about the vows in the jacket pocket ... these secret vows between her and Danny will mean more than any vows said in front of an audience. And when she puts that ring back on his finger ... be prepared to cry tears of joy ... I have a feeling it will be powerful and very real!

9. Danny could not walk out the door without one last hug, one last kiss ... this means so much. He doesn't want to let her go. And Michelle was clinging to him ... she didn't want to let him go either. That kiss was probably the first real kiss between them, the first kiss that both wanted, the first kiss that held longing and love. This kiss marks the beginning of many kisses that will mean the same. This kiss symbolized not the end of Manny, but the beginning.

10. Crying ... Michelle was so distraught. She was crying uncontrollably especially when Danny came back to hug her. She was sobbing like she lost her heart (notice I said her heart ... not her mother's). She lost true love ... she didn't want that. I think it is then that she realized that she loved Danny ... deeply and passionately. And Danny had to practically hold her up because she was so emotional. I felt for her. But, I knew then that things would be okay. She can't give that up for a relationship with Jesse that won't hold a candle to what she shared with Danny.

11. Okay .... the spoilers. Manny is not over. Yes ... a Michelle and Jesse reunion, but Michelle realizes that TWV doesn't do it for her ... Michelle realizes ... that is the key ... Also ... Marla posted that Manny is the couple to root for and that a Michelle and Jesse reunion will be short.

So there you have it ... why I am thrilled. Why I believe things will be okay ... Why I am looking forward to the next couple of weeks ... Why I think that Manny is awesome ... Oh, and by the way ... If you were Michelle ... who would you pick -- TWV or Danny? Now, come on ... is our girl stupid? No way!!! Danny all the way!!!
