Danny and Michelle's first wedding had all the trimmings of a celebration, but there was one minor problem: The bride and groom were only marrying so that the groom's family wouldn't bump off the bride, who had accidentally killed the groom's brother. Danny and Michelle's second attempt at exchanging vows blew up in their faces when a bomb was discovered under a pew during Ray's Mass.
Danny and Michelle, who are now in love, didn't tell anyone they were going to marry after Ray's Mass. They keep quiet about this attempt, too, only telling Ray, whom they ask to preside over the ceremony.
Early in the week, Carmen goes to Michelle at the hospital -- where Rick has had her committed -- to try to make amends. Michelle rejects Carmen, who then goads Michelle into attacking her. The doctors witness this, and say Michelle isn't ready to leave.
That doesn't stop Danny, who decides to break Michelle out. He takes her to the Santos house. Rick goes to the house and tells Danny and Michelle he'll let them be together and that he cleared up everything with the hospital. Rick has no choice: Michelle is an adult, and he knows that she doesn't belong in an institution. Also, he doesn't want Michelle to cut him out of her life.
Danny and Michelle go to Laurel Falls, where Danny surprises her with champagne, flowers and a symbolic wedding ceremony (they're already legally married; the annulment never went through).
Michelle is overjoyed and swept up in the moment as she and Danny affirm their love for each other.
After the ceremoney, the couple finally make love.
