The Fall from Grace: Carmen was livid after Danny married -- instead of murdered -- his brother's killer, Michelle.

You Eat with that Mouth?: When Carmen suggested that Danny test his wife's loyalty, Danny growled: "You will do nothing against my wife. If you do, you will lose the only son you have left. I demand that you respect that. I may live under your roof, but I will not have anyone in my home try to sabotage my wife or my marriage." Did she listen? No. Danny later discovered that Carmen framed his wife by having someone contact the FBI pretending to be Michelle. "What kind of monster are you?" he yelled. "You are the one who can never be trusted."

Reluctant to Reconcile: Although Michelle is no longer Danny's wife (their marriage was annuled)*, he's still in love with her. So much so that he threatened to destroy the entire Santos family if Carmen touched a hair on Michelle's head. As long as Michelle is in the picture, Danny and Carmen are going to remain at odds.

* Note: Just some more of that "they're-married-'they're-not" mumbo jumbo that TPTB were pulling.
