This week, there are more cover-ups going down in the town of Springfield than even Linda Tripp could expose! Danny knows that someone has been providing inside info to the FBI. Hoping that Michelle isn't the Benedict Arnold, the would-be Mob Boss put his wife's loyalty to the test. Will she pass?
Unfortunately, hook, line and sinker, Michelle bit the bait and blabbed to the FBI. However, mere hours before the sting is to go down, she overhears Danny confessing his love for her to his grandmother. Knowing what is certain to happen to him if he keeps his appointment to accept the contraband, Michelle is stricken with guilt. "She is beginning to fall for Danny," admits Joie Lenz (Michelle). "That's the whole reason that she needs to make sure he's not at the docks for the bust. She doesn't want to put him away."
Michelle's pleading with Danny to stay home only makes him more suspicious. In a rare moment alone, she calls Drew, asking her friend to have the FBI call off the raid. Unsure whether Drew will be able to contact the agents, as a last resort to keep her husband from being busted, Michelle tells him that she is losing her sight!
As Danny rushes his wife to Cedars, Michelle breathes a sigh of relief. Regrettably for Mrs. Bauer-Santos, the attending physician is her sibling, Rick, who immediately realizes she's faking her blindness, but keeps mum.
Dietz bursts into the ER waiting room to inform Danny that the FBI has swarmed the docks. Naturally, he is devastated: Michelle turned him in. His mother was right; Michelle can't be trusted. As he grapples with his wife's betrayal, he is left with the dilemma of a lifetime. "At this point, it doesn't make any difference that she chose to save him," says Esenstein. "He has to make a choice of doing something to make sure she never hurts the family or getting rid of her."
After being released from Cedars, Michelle informs her husband that she is going to stay with her brother until her eyes get better. Although Danny suspects that Michelle is lying about her blurred vision, he agrees to let her have this family reunion. Later, when Michelle is visiting with Drew at Millenium, Drew wonders if there is a way to put Carmen away that doesn't involve hurting Danny.
