"Why I Watch and Understanding Danny"

Yes, I lust after Paul Anthony Stewart, but that is not what has me obsessively hooked to this storyline. The first day I saw him I was intrigued by his acting skills, and was curious as to who he was and what he would do next. I don't care how good looking someone is, I won't watch a show because of that. I'm hooked because Stewart and Joie Lenz's chemistry is beyond words. I like the Santos story, the reason behind their marriage, and I think Guiding Light desperately needed new characters and storylines. I'm excited about Pilar and Bill getting together, but mostly because I want to see the expansion of other characters.

As far as the Danny/Drew Deed goes ... I was totally against this happening at first. I was disappointed, upset, and couldn't sleep. The way it's been handled so far is okay with me. I wish Danny would tell her, but I don't think he will. I agree with everyone. Someone made the comment that this happened too soon in the story. I don't agree. First of all because I would rather Danny did this now than later. Second of all for these reasons:

1. Danny risked his life for Michelle. How could he have known Mama wouldn't kill him too? He really didn't know her very well and he was willing to take the risk of spending the rest of his life with her. Remember when he said after he didn't shoot her -- "I wonder if you're worth risking my neck for?"

2. Michelle didn't appreciate anything he did for her. I know the circumstances were extreme, but she constantly reminded him (whining again!) of how she hated the situation, him, his mother, etc. After awhile what would you do?

3. She turned him down for sex several times after she said she wanted it. That would kill any man's ego.

4. He's a man. I'm not going to pretend I understand "Man's Logic," but men do use sex to make themselves feel like a man. Michelle stripped him of whatever he had left of feeling like a man.

5. Mama constantly tells him he's an idiot, he made a huge mistake, she doesn't love him, etc. Anyone's self esteem would go down the tubes!

After being subjected to this for hours and days on end, it makes sense to me that he did this. To me it would seem unrealistic if he didn't do this.
