Essay #164
"Who is Writing for Manny?"

[Note: This was posted in response to Airpoet's question of whether or not Michael Conforti was still writing the Danny and Michelle storyline.]

It sure does look as if someone else is writing Danny and Michelle's scenes these days. We don't really know exactly who the dialogue writers were that wrote all those brilliant scenes ... but whoever they were, it looks as if the job has been handed over to someone else.

I have been whining for some time now that there has been no depth to Danny and Michelle's scenes. It's been all plot or no plot(with some sweet love scenes tossed in for good measure.) So many scenes that COULD HAVE led to conversations about their complex past have simply fizzled. And, the unevenness in the storyline since the shower scenes has been alsolutely jarring to those of us who have enjoyed this storyline for so long.

Now, I certainly love seeing Danny and Michelle all lovey-dovey, but frankly, with no added layers, I doubt very much that this couple could reel in any NEWviewers these days. What would hook them? Without interesting dialogue, without any sizzle in their love scenes -- these are just two extremely good-looking people giggling and scratching a lot. NOT that there's anything wrong with that ....
